Spring in Korea- Cherry Blossom 2020

Spring is a very special time in South Korea because it’s when the cherry blossom trees start to burst into bloom across the entire country. Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal and the fleeting nature of life. Every where you go in Korea, you can capture the fascinating scenery of cherry blossoms: along the riverside, near traditional Korean houses, parks, even on random dull streets.

Typically, the flowers start blooming across Korea in late March to April, depending on the location and each type of flower, blessing everyone with its brief beauty.

As the blooms last for only about 10 days, many international visitors, as well as locals, plan in advance when and where to travel inside Korea to catch the cherry blossoms.

What are the best places to see cherry blossoms in Korea?

1. Yeouido Spring Flower Festival

Located on the Han river in Seoul, the island of Yeouido is one of the most popular spots for enjoying cherry blossoms. Every year in spring, with over 1,600 cherry blossom trees spread across, the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival attracts thousand of tourists and locals.

2. Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival

All around the Seokchon Lake in Seoul, there are hundreds of sweet-scented pink blossom trees and plenty of activities to enjoy in the area.

3. Jinhae Gunhangje Cherry Blossom Festival

The port city of Jinhae located just one hour away from Busan is home to the biggest cherry blossom festival in South Korea.

4. Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival
