Weekend getaways in South Korea


  1. Gapyeong
Accessible from Seoul by subway, this destination has many fun-filled activities and well-known for its stir-fried chicken dish, also known as Dak Galbi. The top 3 attractions at Gapyeong are Namiseom Island, La petite France and the Garden of Morning Calm.
 Accesible via subway, a journey on the Seoul Metro costs from ₩1,050 to ₩2,050 depending on the length of the journey



 2.    Muuido Island :

       A ferry ride to Muuido Island from Incheon brings you to Muuido Island, an unforgettable summer get away!! Nestled far away from the bustling city, you can experience resting in little huts on the expanse beach, tuck into a hearty barbecue while enjoying the brightly lit night sky.
A ferry runs every 15 to 30 minutes fron Incheon Muuido Island.
3.    Jeonju Hanok village :

Discover local specialities such as Bibimbap and Makgeolli, two delicious Korean traditional food. Immerse in the korean traditional culture by spending one night in a traditional hanok korean house. The KTX from Seoul to Iksan takes 2 hours.

4.   Sokcho :
Sokcho is a coastal city on the northeast Korea, it is a great getaway from Seoul for a weekend trip. Surrounded by the sea and the mountain of Seoraksan National Park. The ride takes about 2 hours and costs ₩13,400. Buses from Gangneung costs ₩6,300.

5.   Paju :

Paju-Si is a city with a rich history, dating back to the ancient area. Located close to the Demilitarized Military Zone, spot North Korea at Paju across the border. Exotic villages such as Provence and English villages are also around the corner. Take a bus from Hapjeong station, and it is only 30 minutes from Seoul to Paju.

6.   Daegu :

Daegu is the 4th largest city in Korea and it is an exciting city with many sites toshow. The city that never sleeps, it has many events such as the Lantern Festival and the International Music Festival! From Seoul, there are plenty of travel options - hop on the high speed KTX train if you have more cash to spare or take the inexpensive Seamaeul and Mugunghwa train if you are on a budget.


7.  Busan :
Busan is South Korea's second largest city and is known for its beaches, local seafood and events such as the city's renowned international film festival. The Gamcheon Culture Village, Haeundae Beach and Yonggungsa temple are a must see during your trip.
Busan is accesible from Seoul station by high speed KTX.

8.  Damyang :

Damyang has many beautiful bamboo forests and wide plains. During the Joseon Dynasty, many pavilions were built to enjoy the landscapes, and poems and epics were written in the buildings. These activities were described as pungryu, which means literally "flow of wind."
You can take direct bus to Damyang from Seoul Express Bus Terminal.




9. Boseong :

Boseong is a beautiful and lush area of Korea boasting wonderful rolling green tea fields. People flock to enjoy strolls through the leaves and enjoy all the tasty green tea treats! The Green Tea Festival takes place every May,
Take the KTX from Seoul station to Boseong, the trip lasts about 4 hours.





10. Jejudo :

Jeju is Korea's largest island and is a popular vacation spot, the island offers visitors a wide range of activities including hiking on Halla-san, horse riding, visiting the sets of Korean television drama or simply busking in the beaches enjoying the breathtaking sunrise or sunset. Check out the mysterious Goblin Road Also known as Goblin Road which is famous for the optical illusion that makes the road appears to be sloping upwards, when in fact has a declining slope.
 You can get to Jeju Island by plane or by boat.
